When to Replace a New TP Valve
Quick judgment: the service life is more than 3 years + cold water is also discharged below 30 degrees
The safety valve can automatically open and release the pressure after the pressure in the container exceeds the rated pressure to keep the pressure in the container stable and protect the container. Therefore, if leakage is found during use, it is likely to be normal. So how to judge the safety valve is broken?
Leakage of the safety valve 24 hours a day can basically be judged to be broken. That is, no matter whether it is in the cold water state or the hot water state, the safety valve leaks constantly. The cold water flows slowly and the hot water flows fast. It can basically be determined that the safety valve is broken.
Our safety valves are equipped with wrenches or red caps. Turn the handle to force the manual safety valve to open several times. When the pressure is released, impurities in the sealing surface may be washed out. If there is no more water leakage in the cold water state, it is safe. The valve is ready for use. Why is this so?
The core part of the safety valve is the sealing surface, which is usually closed. When the pressure is higher than the set pressure (the so-called constant pressure), the sealing surface is opened, and the contents (oil, gas, water, etc.) are discharged to avoid pressure inside the container. If the pressure is too large, it will cause danger and ensure safety. When the pressure of the safety valve is lowered to the set pressure, the sealing surface will be closed again to maintain the pressure. In other words, when the safety valve is opened, the medium (oil, gas, water, etc.) in the container flows out through the sealing surface. When the sealing surface is closed, impurities (water rust, oil blocks, etc.) in the contents are trapped on the sealing surface. In the middle, the sealing surface cannot be completely closed, causing leakage. Therefore, even if the new valve after the calibration is completed, there is a possibility of leakage after opening it once. The maintenance method is to disassemble the safety valve and clean the sealing surface; if the sealing surface is seriously damaged, it must be carried out. Grinding; if the hardness of the foreign matter in the inclusion is too high, the sealing surface is too deep or there are penetrating scars that cannot be repaired, the safety valve is declared obsolete and cannot be used, only a new valve can be replaced.
But if it still leaks after several times, it can only be replaced with a new one.
